“If you say that one more time I will throw this book at you,” a voice said in a low grumble. Barbara looked up from her laptop where one of her classmates stood, brandishing a biology textbook.
“Sorry,” she laughed, “It’s just-if you say it enough it sounds really odd.” The girl shook her head.
“Barbara, that happens with any...

Oh, I know, I’m sorry if I made it seem like I was mad that you all weren’t on all the time. I just can’t wait until Thanksgiving break and/or winter break when I have way much more time to be on here and enjoy it, too. And, thanks! I can’t wait to see it. :)

School for me starts August 29th next Wednesday :’|
SO from now until June I will be EXTREMELY busy considering it is my Senior Year and school progressively consumes all my free time as the year moves forward. I’ll try my best to be on, and I’m sure I’ll find time but I’d rather tell you now so that you know. I’m really trying to be on this blog as...

@ John Blake
never-fear-the-fall:
A dull ache radiated from John’s shoulder, which he pressed a hand to and rolled slightly in it’s socket as he walked. Nothing too dangerous had happened the previous night, but his shoulder was practically black and blue with bruises. Considering his, uh… “job”, a lot worse could have happened, so he wasn’t about to complain. Ever since Bruce had left Gotham those few months...

I will never understand science, I swear.
I honestly thought the same thing when I was younger.
However, there is a type of science for everyone.

Okay on Wednesday night I will be leaving for college visits that’ll take up about two, maybe(but hopefully not) three days. I don’t know if this’ll interfere with my rp at all, I MAY (operative word) have some internet to use but it’s not likely. I replied to the Pamela and Barbara para, as well as the Dr. crane and Barbara one-and I’ve...

A Lesson in Toxicology | Pamela & Barbara
ivyofthevalley:
:
Soon, Barbara Gordon came into view, standing at the entrance of the greenhouse. Pamela’s smile grew a bit wider as she took in the girl’s appearance; Something about her pale skin, and that vibrant orange hair reminded Pamela of herself in fact. But it was really much more than that. Barbara was beautiful, in an innocent way. Young, curious, intelligent, traits Pamela also...

@ John Blake
“Dad, everything is fine you don’t have to grill me every time I come home.” Barbara pushed back her chair violently, cleaning her plate in the sink, setting it into the drying rack, and walking tenaciously from the tiny kitchen. She went to her room, accidentally kicking something under her bed as she leaned forward to grab a book. Oh, right, the dress box. Barbara gave it another shove with her...

Dr. Jonathan Crane took in a deep breath before he grabbed his leather briefcase out of the passenger seat, and closed the door to his black, 77 Buick. He paused, staring up at the over-sized, familiar building. Gotham State University. He grimaced. He had thought he’d…

A Lesson in Toxicology | Pamela & Barbara
ivyofthevalley:
“…And four drops of concentrated nitrogen for you, dear,” Pamela Isely said, her voice smooth as silk, a tone exclusively reserved for her plants. Her eyes narrowed in concentration as she added the solution to the soil of a single potted plant, then moved to the next one. She was standing in the greenhouse on the grounds of the school a man named Xavier ran, a man she hardly knew...

OOC: Hey guys, I’ve just added a submissions page to my blog so that if we’re working on a plot or if you’d like to work on a plot we can share ideas in a longer format other than Tumblr’s messages. That’s all, now back in character!

ivyofthevalley:
I’m sure you’re more than capable of taking care of yourself Barbara. You know, I don’t usually do this-well, I’ve never done this- but what’ya say you come over to my greenhouse? I’m working on a few experiments with Asclepias curassavica, if you’d like to come help.
I think you’ll find it very interesting, and besides, I believe I’ll have a little free time tomorrow.

Ah, GSU. Have you decided on a major yet? You know if you go into botany I’d be more than happy to show you around my lab one day.
You know I almost got crushed myself. Gotham will do that to a girl. Luckily I’m out of the hospital and good as new. But it’s so wonderful to see young women like yourself going to school, getting their lives started. Gotham could use a few more...

Why thank you. It’s nice to hear of people who appreciate environmental sciences. And I doubt your father would ever retire, Barbara. Not until every psycho in Gotham was finally put away. Which I doubt will ever really happen, sadly.
Now let me think…It must’ve been awhile ago…The details will come to me eventually. Anyway, I definitely know a Gordon when I see one. Are you...

ivyofthevalley:
Oh I know exactly who you are, Miss Gordon. My, you’re all grown up now, aren’t you? How’s your father?
I’m Dr. Pamela Isely. I’ve been gone for awhile now, but you’ve probably heard about my research at some time or another. As for that old library, there’s hardly anything useful in there anymore. In fact I’m surprised it’s still standing with all the fighting that’s been...

Even worse, in some ways. I’ve seen at least three new department stores since I’ve been back. Three ugly buildings where beautiful pines used to be.
I feel the same way sometimes, but there’s not much I can do as a citizen other than complain. I’m Barbara, by the way, Barbara Gordon. I think I’ve seen you around…maybe at the Gotham Library?

Heard quite a lot of police sirens last night.
nothing-to-fear:
Well, that’s…nice, I suppose.
Are you thinking about joining the force? Doing a bit of “following in your father’s footsteps” sort of thing..?
Ha-I don’t think we need another Gordon in the Gotham Police Force. I think I’d be disowned by my mother as well.
I’ll stick to the library and uh…work with the police vicariously through John and my...

Ah, yes. Blake. The kid that they let into the force, of course. I remember…He made quite a big deal of himself during that whole…catastrophe a few months back. Are you two close?
I would say so…when i came back for school in Gotham I talked to him quite a bit-he does quite a bit of work with my father so he’s around a lot.

It wouldn’t be the first time, Miss Gordon. Although, I’m afraid I’m not familiar with this John you speak of…unless you’d like to be more specific.
John Blake? Well, I’m sure you’ve met him before. He’s a detective…works closely with my father.

nothing-to-fear:
At least not in Gotham City…
Sadly. Though I haven’t seen much in the news lately about serious crime…I suppose they’re trying to hush it all up. Maybe John would know about that.
Nevertheless, it’s either very serious or some unorganized criminals that all decided to act in one night.

selinagotyourtongue:
You thought this city would somehow turn wholesome?
No, Miss. Kyle-and I don’t appreciate the laughter. I just meant that I’m used to the sirens-but this was a copious amount. Like hundreds of cars were out last night. Hundreds.

miss-arrowette:
Oh, yeah. I don’t think anyone isn’t aware of how special Gotham is. But, I think I can manage taking care of myself, thanks for warning me, I guess.
So, what about you, Barbara? Do you still go to school somewhere?
Good. Yes, I do go to school-college nonetheless, still school.

Not at all, Miss Gordon. What ever would make you jump to such a ridiculous conclusion? I was simply making conversation…
Fairly. If you’ll excuse my saying, but that’s what rich. I used to be a professor at Gotham State…for a while. I taught Psychology. And considering I never had to fail a student, I’d say I was quite good at it. If you ever need extra help…

That’s…coincidental. And how old are you, exactly, Miss Gordon?
Maybe it is. You should know, I’m quite…impressed with the rather large assumptions your able to make with such little information there is on the Batgirl. If I didn’t know better, I might be a tad bit suspicious.
Suspicion is what you do best is it? Heh-are you accusing me of knowing the Batgirl? Being her?

Ah, I was aware you weren’t from around here-but I hope if you ever come to Gotham you stay safe. From one girl to another-this city isn’t the safest. But I can take care of myself, as I’m sure you can?

Maybe not bad. But risky. How old is she..? Like fifteen? I just hope she realizes that the path she and the Bat are on isn’t necessarily…the safest. Especially for someone so - young.
I hardly think she’s fifteen. From the pictures I’ve seen and the stories I’ve heard from my father she’s at least my age. At least…

I never said I didn’t care about my opinion…and I also never used the words naive. You seem to know a lot about this Batgirl character…any particular reason you’ve taken up an interest in vigilantes..?
Well..um…I-I happen to see her as a role model. I mean, I admire greatly the work she does-and as a female. Nothing more than that.
I think you and I walk a thin line...

Jumping from theories, to vigilantes now? Your train of thought moves pretty quickly, doesn’t it? And as far as this “batgirl” goes…I hardly think she’s even comparable to The Batman. A sheer amateur in the eyes of anyone.
I hardly think my opinion will change yours…so does it really matter?
No, if you don’t really care about your own opinion I guess I won’t....
